While Buddhism and Atheism are mutually exclusive, to be a Buddhist Atheist is not a contradiction. There is nothing in Buddhism compelling you to believe in a god and you don’t have to believe in everything in the sutras (like reincarnation, which I don’t believe in) in order to be a Buddhist.
